Booth Supportive Services
Booth Supportive Services provides support and services to people diagnosed with mental health disorders and addiction issues with the goal of keeping them housed, holistically healthy, connected with their communities and with resources. The program is geared towards those with a mental health/addictions diagnosis, are +18, have a history of chronic homelessness, and housing has been recently secured.
The program is unique, in that, unlike most housing workers in the shelter system and other support service agencies, our staff are tasked to work with and walk alongside clients, befriending and empowering them. Our goal is to provide any or all the tools and services they need to regain and own their lives and live independently in a healthy and happy manner within a two-year time frame but with aftercare follow-up thereafter.
The following is the criteria to be eligible to receive Booth Supportive Services (BSS) Case Management Services. Clients must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Have an official mental health diagnosis provided by a medical practitioner or clinical psychologist. Or the client has undiagnosed severe persistent mental health and refuses to engage with a mental health professional.
- Has an experience of chronic homelessness – client has been continuously homeless over the past 6 months or has had multiple shelter stays over the last three years.
- Have either been recently housed or has a lease signed.
